Remember Patricia Bauer, who won our Geek Chic giveaway? If you do, you might recall that her randomly selected winning comment read:

I love using your fabrics to make shirts for my computer guy husband. They are his “Friday” shirts. The most recent ones were of popcorn and pancakes (bacon on the yoke) … but he has lots of computer, space, and holiday shirts as well.

After reading that, we simply could not resist asking Mrs. Bauer to send along some photos.

Here’s Francis modeling his Pancake Stack shirt, made of our Food-C9249-Pancake print. The print featured on the back is our famous bacon fabric, Food-C8879-Bacon. (He made the pancakes, too!)

Patricia writes:

My husband wore this shirt to IHOP on National Pancake Day. The manager took a photo and sent it up the chain to the corporate guys. Apparently it went over quite well in the corporate halls.

[These shirts] are fun for me to make and fun for him to wear. He always gets comments on them. Since these are like Hawaiian shirts in that they are loose fitting, they go together very quickly. From starting, to laying out the pattern, to ready for buttons and buttonholes is about 4 hours. I generally pause at that point so we can hunt through my button box together to find the perfect buttons.

I made a shirt from fabric that is all coins. It has buffalo nickel buttons. The “money” shirts are his April shirts. The first week of April is all paper currency. Week 2 has a combination of bills and coins. Week 3, which is usually after tax day, is just coins. Week 4 is monopoly money. So, I’m not kidding when I say he’s got a shirt for nearly every occasion or holiday you can think of.

Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Bauer for letting us join in on the fun. We’re seeing fabric – and wardrobes – in a new light this week!
